Getting on the list is free, quick, & easy while it insures you will be contacted once the litter is born before they are made available to the general public. You will be afforded the option to choose to reserve a puppy by sending a deposit once you are contacted. After those on the list choose I make the rest of the litter available to the general public if there are any left. Most American Bulldog breeders charge eight to fifteen hundred dollars and some go for as high as two thousand dollars a puppy; but the national average is probably around a thousand dollars. In Louisiana you can find a well bred bulldog puppy between the range of five to eight hundred dollars so we allow our puppies to be available at six hundred. Deposit amount of half is required to hold the pup and is non refundable but transferable to another pup or litter should something happen to the pup before the time of pick up. Cash remainder is required at the time of pick up usually around six weeks of age.
So you are wondering what exactly is a Hybrid? I'll try to give a detailed explanation in the lines that follow. There are two types of American Bulldogs, Standard and Bully, or you may find them described as Painter and Johnson. They are both American Bulldogs but very different in build. The standard/Painter American Bulldog is considered the working dog that Farmers/Ranchers actually used with livestock, hunting, and ranch work. It is believed to be the dog that was actually bred and developed on American soil, but that does depend on the theory of ancestry you prefer. It is lighter in weight than the Johnson, muscular, and has agile movement. It has longer legs and a longer muzzle with better breathing. The Johnson American Bulldog was developed from the Standard/Painter American Bulldog with other bully breeds bred into it which over time has produced somewhat of a giant extreme bulldog type. Both are American Bulldogs and both have there pros and cons. However when you breed for something between the two types Standard/Bully it is generally labeled a Hybrid because you are trying to combine some of the better characteristics from both of them. Better still we have taken an additional step with our breeding program by working with the CKC which allows for registering a cross bred litter of two different breeds as long as both parents are registered. So the dogs you see on our web site are a product of that. To accomplish this type of bulldog we have crossed the Johnson American Bulldog and another American Performance Bully. Most of our puppies are 66% Johnson type and 33% American Performance Bully. Some people really like the breeding option we bring to the public especially once you meet our bulldogs in person and see them first hand for yourself. Also our prices are competitive against the regular price of an American Bulldog. We feel we have a lot to offer. I hope I have addressed your curiosity in enough detail. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance and good hunting for a bulldog puppy that meets your needs.
So why would you want to purchase one of our bulldogs since they are Hybrids? Above all I am completely transparent and totally honest about our program, not to mention what you see is what you get. We do what we do out of passion, hard work, and thoughtful breeding consideration not a business system. Truth be told we operate at a loss but that's not even an issue as we love what we do and it shows. We have our full time day jobs which is what pays the bills. Our quality and commitment are self evident. Anyone can put two dogs together and get a canine something, and it would be obvious that's what they were doing. If we were doing that then you would not be taking the time to read this in the first place. First of all the difference in our program is that we breed with a purpose and a goal in mind which makes it worthwhile and is easily proven in the dog we produce with the paperwork to back it up. The dog itself is the best representation of good genetics, great health, and fabulous character, the paperwork is a validated bonus. As far as the canine species goes they can all be described as mixed from the perspective that all domestic canines come from the wolf and we have excepted certain looks and titles with documentation as socially acceptable. With that being said the current fad of super high priced canines or so called "Designer Dogs" which are Cross Breeds many of which are not even registered and are still highly sought after. I believe designer dogs are so popular because many people like to express themselves with their pet. Since these types of dogs are different from your run of the mill dog people easily associate their own individualism with them. Studies show that when someone has a litter of puppies to choose from, the one that is different from the rest is usually the first one chosen. Why because it is different and people like options of individualism that set them apart from the pack. A concrete type thinker can certainly purchase a title with papers on a canine and it be the furthest thing from correct breed type and what they wanted. But none the less they will certainly have the high priced paperwork to prove what they bought even if you can't tell it by the dog. Most interesting with our dogs is that since we work thru the CKC our clients have what I consider to be an even greater privilege than other breeds is that our cross registry allows for three different options to continue registry. Our registered puppies can be bred with a registered American Bulldog or a registered dog of our bloodline and can continue to register the litters/puppies. Certainly investigate to find the dog that best meets your needs. I could go on but suffice it to say that we are passionate about our program and bloodline. I do not want to place a puppy with anyone just for the sake of finding a home and then end up taking it back because it was not what they wanted. If you are looking for a pure American Bulldog I'll be glad to give you some references. I hope you find what you are looking for and that it really is the right match for you.
